UFC star Conor McGregor expresses regret after sexual abuse verdict

Conor McGregor has made a general statement following a loss in civil court, with the jury finding the Irish UFC star liable for assaulting a woman named Nikita Hand in December 2018.

As a result of the court ruling, the multi-millionaire UFC fighter has been ordered to pay $250,000 in damages. McGregor denies the rape allegations and testifies that he and Hand had consensual sex in a Dublin hotel years ago, on a night when cocaine was present.

Hand spoke to the media after her victory in civil court, as McGregor walked through a storm of cameras and refused to comment on the ruling.

Conor McGregor shares statement after UFC star found liable in sexual assault case

In the days that followed, we’ve seen some activity on McGregor’s social media – a few tweets and takedowns here and there about the validity of Hand’s rape allegations. On Monday, the former world champion released another statement about where everything went wrong on the night of December 9, 2018.

“People want to hear from me, I needed time,” McGregor wrote on X. “I know I made mistakes. Six years ago I should never have responded to her outreach. I should have closed the party. I never should have have to do.” stepped out on the woman I love most in the world.

McGregor’s fiancée is Dee Devlin. The pair have four children and have been together since McGregor reached the UFC Octagon, and she was by the Irishman’s side in court on Friday.

“As much as I regret it, everything that happened that night was consensual and all witnesses present swore to that under oath. I have instructed my legal team to appeal the decision.”

“I can’t go back anymore and I’m going forward,” said McGregor, who has been out of competition for the past three years due to injuries, among other things. “I am deeply grateful to my family, friends and supporters around the world who have stayed by my side.”

“That’s it. No more. Back to the gym, the fight game awaits!”

A broken toe ruled Conor McGregor out of his planned return at UFC 303 earlier this year as he was forced to withdraw from the highly anticipated clash with Michael Chandler. It still remains unclear when we will see “The Notorious” return to the UFC Octagon, especially in light of the recent controversy.
