A pickup truck that may have been involved in a Sept. 10 homicide at Forest and Newland avenues in Jamestown is pictured. City police officers are asking for the public’s help in identifying the owner and driver of the truck.

A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Doug Howie.

The reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers WNY.

Tuesday, September 10, around 8:40 PM, Jamestown Police officers responded to the area of ​​Newland and Forest Avenue for a reported shooting. Officers found Howie, 68, at the scene with a gunshot wound. City firefighters and Alstar paramedics responded and treated Howie, who was taken to UPMC Chautauqua and then flown to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, where he succumbed to his injuries.

In late September, city police released images of a pickup truck whose owner and driver they are trying to identify as part of the murder investigation.
