Harper Woods Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide

The deaths of two people found Monday in a home in Harper Woods are being investigated as a possible murder-suicide, according to the city’s Department of Public Safety.

Officers responded Monday around 1:30 p.m. to the 18500 block of Kenosha “for a shooting that had just occurred,” the department said in a news release.

The man and woman, both in their 30s, were dead when officers arrived, officials said.

“After speaking with witnesses at the scene, detectives determined this was a murder-suicide resulting from a domestic violence incident. Our thoughts are with the families of the deceased,” said Harper Woods Public Safety Director Jason Hammerle , in a statement. statement. “We are in the preliminary stages of the investigation, but are confident there is no additional threat to the general public at this time.”

The incident came a month after a 26-year-old Warren man was reported fatally shot by his mother.
