Kuwait dismantles illegal residence transfer network, 600 affected

KUWAIT CITY, November 26: Under the directives and instructions of His Excellency the Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, and as part of ongoing security efforts to combat human trafficking and address violations of law the General Residency Affairs Investigations Division successfully arrested a criminal network. The group consists of a citizen who owns a business and his Syrian partner, accused of forgery and tampering with official documents to facilitate obtaining residence permits in exchange for money.

Details showed that the suspects illegally transferred employees’ whereabouts to the company in exchange for amounts ranging from 300 to 500 Kuwaiti dinars per employee. Investigations also revealed that the company was involved in transferring vehicles to its sponsorship to facilitate obtaining professions such as “heavy equipment driver” in exchange for 500 Kuwaiti dinars per employee.

Thanks to the diligent efforts of the investigation team, it was discovered that a total of 600 employees were registered with the companies associated with the suspects. The individuals were arrested after extensive investigations and referred to the competent authorities for all necessary legal proceedings.

The Ministry of Interior emphasizes its continued efforts to prosecute anyone who attempts to harm the country’s interests or violate the law, and reaffirms its commitment to enforce the law firmly and without exception.
