Joni Lamb accuses son Jonathan of smearing Daystar Television

Daystar president Joni Lamb is accusing son Jonathan of “concocting a smear campaign” amid child abuse allegations involving a Daystar employee.

Jonathan Lamb, former vice president of Daystar Television Network, has been fired from his position following a series of public allegations by him and his wife Suzy.

The couple alleged that a male relative, who also worked at the network, sexually abused their five-year-old daughter between 2020 and 2021. Daystar has denied the allegations and conducted an internal investigation, which was closed without evidence supporting the claims.

On November 25, Joni Lamb, president of Daystar and Jonathan’s mother, announced on social media that Jonathan had been removed from the company. She stated that the decision followed Jonathan’s involvement in a smear campaign against the organization, adding that his actions were motivated by dissatisfaction that he had not been chosen to succeed his late father, Marcus Lamb, as the future president from Daystar.

Joni Lamb further explained that after a 15-month performance review, Jonathan was placed on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP). However, Jonathan refused to participate in the scheme or participate in mediation, she said. In her post, Joni expressed her sadness over the situation, attributing Jonathan’s frustration to the events surrounding her marriage to Dr. Doug Weiss, who she described as a positive influence on both her family and Daystar.

The Lambs’ public departure from Daystar was announced on November 19 via a post on X (formerly Twitter), where they stated that they are “no longer with Daystar.” The next day, they spoke exclusively to The Roys Report, accusing a Daystar employee of sexually assaulting their daughter. Suzy Lamb described an incident in which the family member allegedly followed their daughter to her room as she prepared to swim. She described the relative’s behavior as abnormal, saying: “It was as if his eyes turned black and he was in zombie mode.”

Suzy further claimed that their daughter disclosed the abuse to her, stating that the family member touched her inappropriately and raped her. Jonathan Lamb also said he confronted the family member, which reportedly led to an apology from the family member.

In response to the allegations, Jonathan and Suzy accused Marcus and Joni Lamb of trying to protect the family member and not reporting the matter to authorities. Daystar, in turn, issued a statement saying there was a misunderstanding of the situation and that there was no wrongdoing during the internal investigation.

Jonathan Lamb, a vice president at Daystar, said he was removed from the company after refusing to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Additionally, The Roys Report revealed that Suzy Lamb was abruptly fired from Daystar in July 2023. Marcus Lamb, who co-founded the network with his wife, died at the age of 64 after contracting COVID-19.

The Daystar Television Network, often referred to as Daystar, is a Christian television network that follows an evangelical and prosperity theology. It was founded in 1993 by Marcus Lamb under the ownership of Word of God Fellowship. Headquartered in Bedford, Texas, within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Daystar broadcasts religious programming focused on prosperity teachings.
