The Platts reeling from the development before Gail’s end in Coronation Street | Soaps

The Platt clan in Coronation Street aren’t sure what to make of Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson).

The character suddenly returned this week and at first Eileen (Sue Cleaver) believed her ex was back in town to see her. To his surprise, it was confirmed that Jesse had indeed returned to see Gail (Helen Worth).

While this was happening, the family was busy trying to raise enough money to pay Bethany’s (Lucy Fallon) medical fees. In upcoming episodes of the ITV soap, Sarah (Tina O’Brien) accuses Adam (Sam Robertson) of stealing money from Damon (Ciaran Griffiths) that he planned to give to his family.

Also next week, David (Jack P Shepherd) is apprehensive when Jesse offers to help with the prospect of buying Number 8.

Jesse’s strange behavior continues when he declares that he wants to spend more time with Gail’s children. Curious to know what he’s up to, Sarah, David and Nick (Ben Price) meet him for lunch at the pub.

There, the brothers question Jesse about his finances and he reveals that he expects money from the sale of their marital home.

David advises Sarah to forget about Damon’s money, but they are distracted as Jesse runs out of the pub.

But what is he doing?

“What I like is the way he’s changed,” said star John Thomson, reflecting on the recently returned Jesse.

‘The old saying goes, never work with children and animals, well Jesse was a children’s artist who had a talking parrot! He was also a spark, so I always thought it might be the end of him, eliminated in an electrical accident, but that never manifested and it was actually his romantic misdeeds that led to his departure. So it’s a huge relief not to have to deal with children and animals this time.

‘He’s always had a bit of a cowboy, country and western look, his name is Jesse James Chadwick. But he’s a little smarter now, his look has changed and I got rid of those boots that hurt me a lot, so it’s a relief!

“He still has a great sense of humor and there’s some good comedy to be had. It’s a joy to receive things that are sometimes dramatic and sometimes funny, it’s great to be able to play both sides.
