Drones spotted again over three US air bases in Britain | British news

A number of drones have again been spotted over three air bases in Britain used by the US air force.

US military units were still monitoring the airspace over RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall, in Suffolk, and RAF Feltwell in Norfolk on Tuesday after the unmanned aerial vehicles were sighted overnight, a spokesman said.

The drones have not been classified as hostile.

The RAF is believed to be working to help control the airspace and ensure the safety of the sites.

“I can confirm that the situation remains ongoing and that our units continue to monitor airspace and work with host nation authorities and mission partners to ensure the safety of base personnel, facilities and assets,” the US Air Force Europe spokesperson said .

“To ensure operational security, we are not discussing specific troop protection measures, but we reserve the right to protect our installations.”
