On May 10, 2022, 13-year-old Milana Li was found dead in a small stream in Westside Linear Park after being reported missing by her mother the day before.

Milana’s friends and mother went looking for her in a wooded area where she frequented, where they found her clothes and shoes.

Police searched the area and found Li’s body half-submerged under a weighted blanket in a creek.

Packing straps linked to the blanket were found in Gore’s tent near Progress Ridge. DNA evidence has also been traced back to Gore.

Gore was identified as a person of interest and ran away when police tried to talk to him two days after Milana’s body was found in a library.

He was later arrested.

Police learned that Gore called his then-girlfriend after the murder and told her that something bad had happened but that he was “taking care of it.”

The Washington County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed in a press release after the trial that Milana was raped and murdered by Gore.

Senior Deputy District Attorney Pulver reportedly told the jury that Gore “was a wolf in sheep’s clothing when he lured Milana into a false sense of security before brutally raping and murdering her in a wooded area of Beaverton, near where the suspect lived in a prison. tent.”

Prosecutors used surveillance footage and cell phone tracking data to prove that Milana was last seen alive with Gore at approximately 7:45 p.m. the night of her murder.

Gore, who was 16 at the time of the murder, was tried as an adult following a decision by a Washington County judgewho ruled that Gore was mature enough to understand the crime he was accused of.

His sentencing hearing is scheduled for Monday.
