BMW is backing up on I-35, temporarily closing two lanes

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – Two people were injured early Tuesday in a three-car crash, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported.

The crash happened at 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 26 on I-35 northbound at the 18th Street Expressway.

KHP reported that a 27-year-old woman driving a 2022 BMW X5 rear-ended a 2014 Toyota Camry while they were driving in the far left lane. This caused the Toyota to swerve into the center lane and side-swipe a 2015 Ford Transit.

All three vehicles stopped in the roadway, blocking the two left lanes and restricting traffic flow to one lane for about an hour.

The 27-year-old in the BMW was arrested and driven to a local hospital with suspected minor injuries. The 25-year-old driver of the Toyota Camry also suffered minor injuries. He was taken to an area hospital by ambulance personnel.

The third driver was not injured, but his car was towed along with the other two.

All three drivers were reportedly wearing their seat belts.
