Collision near Malta, Texas results in the death of a man who pushes a motorcycle to the side of the road

BOWIE COUNTY, Texas (KSLA) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run near Malta.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says that on Monday, November 25, around 5:45 a.m., state troopers were dispatched to a wreck near the intersection of US 82 and CR 3111, just west of Malta.

Investigators determined that a 44-year-old man was pushing a motorcycle on the shoulder west toward DeKalb when he was struck by a car traveling west.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver involved left the scene and remains unknown. Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call the Texarkana Highway Patrol communications office at 903-255-5701.
