18-year-old arrested in June in shooting on Monte Carlo Drive

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with a June shooting, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Brandon Alexander Francis was arrested Tuesday, according to jail bookings.

Francis was identified as the suspect in the shooting occurred on the 3400 block of Monte Carlo Drivedeputies said.

According to the incident report, officers responded to a shots fired call with one subject down around midnight on June 9.

Officials say they then responded to Monte Carlo Drive and found multiple shell casings in the road in front of the home.

According to the incident report, blood tests were also found at the incident location.

Officials say the victim was in a car on Fifth Street at Broad Street.

According to the incident report, the victim was transported to Wellstar MCG for treatment.

Francis is charged with four counts of aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a firearm or knife during a crime and possession of a pistol or revolver under the age of 18, which is a misdemeanor according to jail bookings.

Francis is being held in the Richmond County Jail, officials said.
