Dutch police have a suspect in a $15,000 burglary at a gaming store

OTTAWA COUNT, MI – Dutch police detectives have identified a possible suspect in a burglary at Super Hideaway Gaming on the city’s south side.

The burglar made off with more than 15,000 euros worth of merchandise, the owner said.

The store provides sales and service for trading card games and tabletop games such as Warhammer and Dungeons & Dragons. The company also sells new and used video games and other merchandise and hosts tournaments.

Detectives identified a possible suspect and used a search warrant on a vehicle that matched one seen on surveillance video outside the store. The police found many of the stolen cards.

Police expect to ask Ottawa County prosecutors to file charges.

The burglary occurred on Nov. 10 at the business on South Washington Avenue, near West 40th Street.

Owner Aaron Mooneyhan called the burglary a “gut attack.”

He said surveillance footage showed a man sleeping in his car before getting out to check out his store around 3 a.m. The man then went to another parking lot until about 7 a.m. He backed up to the front door and smashed the glass with a rock, Mooneyhan said.

The man looted the business while stealing items, he said.

A GoFundMe page has raised $3,800 to help the company.
