Jerod Mayo sends a powerful message after the New England Patriots win

The New England Patriots managed a hard-fought victory in the last second over the Jets from New York today by a final score of 25-22. It was a match they were not expected to win.

After what was a very tough week for the Patriots, they were able to come together as a team and get a big win. With the win, they improved to 2-6 on the season.

Much of the drama surrounding the team was due to comments made by head coach Jerod Mayo after last week’s loss. He called the team ‘soft’, which did not sit well with former players and legendary coach Bill Belichick.

Despite all the negative outside noise, New England would not let itself be separated.

After today’s win, Mayo spoke out with a much more positive quote. Dakota Randall of Pro Football Network shared what Mayo had to say at the post-match press conference.

“Really proud of the guys. There was a lot of noise, a lot of chatter. … I thought the energy was better,” Mayo said.

Unfortunately, the Patriots suffered a very concerning injury. Drake Maye, the team’s rookie quarterback, went down with a head injury and did not return to the game.

Hopefully Maye won’t have to miss any time due to the injury.

New England won’t be a contender this season, but wins are still very important to the development process. Such victories can be huge for morale and for the development of young players.

Mayo also needed a win to get some of the outside criticism and noise off their shoulders. There were even some who speculated that his Job status may be in jeopardy.

It will be interesting to see how next week in practice goes for the Patriots and how they come out next week against the Tennessee titans. They have a great chance to win two games in a row in Week 9.
