Hasnat Abdullah demands a ban on ISKCON as a terrorist organization

Also speaking on the occasion, Sarjis Alam said: “We would like to tell all the ghosts clearly that we have forced Hasina, who was murdered for sixteen years, to flee the country. Letting a few small-time ISKCON militants flee the country is a small matter.”

The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has called on the authorities concerned to ban ISKCON by declaring it a terrorist organization, claiming that it is “trying to create chaos in Bangladesh at the behest of India”.

The platform’s chairman Hasnat Abdullah made the demand today (November 27) while speaking at Chattogram’s Tiger Pass Square on the occasion of the namaz-e-janaza of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif, who was killed during a protest against the capture of former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das yesterday.

On the occasion, he also demanded that those responsible for Saiful’s death be arrested within 24 hours.

The student leader said, “We have not forgotten how in the last sixteen years this ISKCON has grown into a militant organization with the support and protection of the Awami League and is now creating unrest in Bangladesh at the behest of India as a partner of the dictatorship.

Hasnat called ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ‘India’s Bubu’ and said she will no longer have a place in Bangladesh.

“No matter how many conspiracies come out of India, we, the people of Bangladesh, will stop that conspiracy.”

Saying that all religions will coexist in the country, Hasnat said, “A Hindu will practice Hinduism. A Buddhist will practice Buddhism. A Christian will practice Christianity. We are united to protect the rights of everyone. But no extremist organizations operating under the pretext of religion will find a place in Bangladesh.”

Also speaking on the occasion, Sarjis Alam, general secretary of July Shaheed Smriti Foundation and member of Nagorik Committee, said: “Sheikh Hasina fled the country by treading on blood. Now Chinmoy’s supporters are inciting (communal violence) by treading on the same blood. Standing on that blood, the murderer that Hasina turned on. Standing on that blood, the militant ISKCON founded some of India’s minds are inciting.

“We want to tell all the ghosts clearly that we have forced Hasina, who was murdered for 16 years, to flee the country. It is a small effort to allow some small-time ISKCON militants to flee the country.”
