Authorities are asking for help finding the missing Rankin County teen

RANKIN CO., Miss. (WLBT) – Authorities need your help locating a missing Hartfield Academy student.

John Michael Jones, 16, lives in Brandon, Mississippi.

He was last seen wearing blue shorts and a white T-shirt.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office says the department was notified today that Jones was missing from his home.

According to RCSO, there is no evidence of foul play at this time.

According to the department, Jones has been struggling with depression following the deaths of his father and a grandparent.

This has led to his family becoming concerned that he is considering self-harm.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office has contacted the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation for assistance in issuing a Purple Alert.
