Netizens shocked by luxury apartments worth Rs 75 crore in Gurugram, users say ‘cheaper to buy abroad’

Property prices in Gurugram have soared and become the talk of the town. The topic became a topic of conversation when a user named Abhinav Kukreja posted about the exorbitant prices of luxury housing in the region.

In a post on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Kukreja said, “DLF today launched its new project, The Dahlias on Golf Course Road, Gurgaon. The smallest apartment configuration is 9,500 square feet. The expected selling price is ₹80,000 per square foot. This means that there is now a building in Gurgaon where the cheapest house costs ~$$75Cr (US$9 million).

Sharing photos of DLF’s latest high-end project, he highlighted the luxurious amenities offered in the project such as private theaters, game rooms and spa. However, the smallest unit in the project cost Rs 75 million.

The post resulted in a heated conversation on social media, with users sharing their shock at the region’s prices. Many people have made comparisons against prevailing property prices in some of the world’s largest cities.

One of the users commented, “Maybe it’s the dilliwala in me, but I don’t see the appeal. 75cr gets you a 600sqm kothi in Sundar Nagar where your neighbors will be khandaani rahees. An apartment seems like a downgrade for him.”

Another person said: “You can have a panoramic view in Italy for the same price and with much better facilities.” While others questioned the situation of the real estate market in the country. “Our assets are out of control. Pound for pound, it is cheaper to buy housing abroad than in India,” said another user.
