Rape of 9-year-old girl: 51-year-old man arrested for raping 9-year-old girl in Jajpur

Kendrapada: A 51-year-old man was arrested by police in 2011 Jajpur district Sunday for allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl in Jajpur district on Friday evening.
Reference was made to the girl suffering injuries to her genitals SCB Medical University and hospital in Cuttack for treatment.
In her FIR on Saturday, the girl’s mother alleged that her daughter was raped Arachita Parida (51) from the same village when she returned home on Friday.
The suspect also assaulted her and dragged her on the ground, causing injuries to her shoulders and other parts of her body. He then threatened her with dire consequences if she talked about it to anyone.
Based on the FIR, Parida was arrested. He has reportedly confessed to his crime. The girl’s medical examination confirmed the rape. “As per preliminary investigation, the girl suffered injuries on her private parts and other parts of the body,” said investigating officer Sumati Kumari Mohanty.
