Man in hospital, suspect in custody after carjacking and shooting in Toronto’s east end – CP24

A man was seriously injured after being shot during a carjacking in Toronto’s east end on Wednesday evening.

Toronto police said they received a call about a carjacking in the area at 7:15 p.m Dundas and Carroll streetseast of Don Valley Parkway.

Toronto paramedics say they transported an adult victim to hospital with serious injuries.

Meanwhile, police said the suspect fled in the victim’s car, which officers later found abandoned.

A short chase ensued and a male suspect was arrested. the police said. They added that a firearm was also recovered.

Dundas Street is closed from Carlaw Avenue to River Street as the investigation continues. Commissioners Street is also blocked from Carlaw to Logan Avenue.

The police say they have a large presence in both areas.
