Plane crashes near the Utah-Arizona border

MOJAVE COUNTY, Ariz. – A plane crashed just south of the Utah-Arizona state line – thankfully without causing serious injuries.

Officials with the St. George Fire Department confirmed to FOX 13 News that the crash occurred about 3 to 4 miles across the border in Mojave County, Arizona, around 6:15 p.m. The crash was seen by people in the Desert Canyon neighborhood.

Fire officials said all occupants were able to get out of the small private plane after the crash. It is believed there were three people. Their injuries ranged from mild to moderate, and officials said the group walked to the nearest road where ambulances were waiting.

The plane caught fire some time after the crash. However, St. George Fire said it is not spreading and is too remote to access resources, so they are monitoring it while they let it burn itself out.
