Tlaib and Omar ‘might consider leaving before I get there’

Republican House of Representatives and Florida candidate Randy Fine (R) said Tuesday that progressive Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) should consider leaving Congress if he is chosen.

“The Hebrew hammer is coming,” wrote Fine, who is Jewish in a message on the social platform X. “(Rashida Tlaib) and (Ilhan Omar) might consider leaving before I get there.”

Fine included the hashtag “BombsAway.”

The incendiary candidate’s comments were made in a repost of the Republican Jewish Coalition’s endorsement of Fine for Florida’s 6th Congressional District.

Tlaib, the only Palestinian-American member of Congress, and Omar have been vocal in their support of Palestinians during the Israeli-Hamas war following the Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023. Both lawmakers are Muslim.

Fine is known for his staunch pro-Israel views and has faced backlash for a series of inflammatory comments about the war. When a Turkish-American activist was killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank earlier this year, Fine wrote in a post on X: “Throw stones, get shot. One Muslim terrorist less. Fire away.”

In 2019, Fine referred to a Jewish voter who defended a forum titled “Palestine/Israel, Opening Dialogue” as “Judenrat,” a term referring to Jews who collaborated with the Nazis during the Holocaust. The comments were posted according to Facebook the Jerusalem Post And the Orlando Sentinel.

Fine launched his bid for the state’s 6th District on Tuesday. The seat is currently held by Representative Mike Waltz (R), who will leave the House of Representatives to serve as President-elect Trump’s National Security Advisor.

Trump called on Fine to run for the seat on Monday.
