Voice Australia viewers beg Channel Seven to make big changes in 2025: ‘So unfair’

The Voice Australia The 2024 semi-finals will take place this week, with the knockout rounds and final showdown already completed. Sunday night’s episode had some major moments, with LeAnn Rimes throwing out the rulebook once again, refusing to choose between Tori Darke and Brad Butcher and Letitia Butler and inviting everyone to compete in the final showdown.

Another moment that shocked and angered some fans was Guy Sebastian’s decision to take SKŸE to the semi-finals, meaning James Vass and Roland Williams were sent home. Viewers have already suggested that the competition is ‘rigged’ and that SKŸE was decided as the winner and Sunday’s episode did nothing to allay those suspicions.

Fans of the show are now begging Channel Seven to make some major changes to the format for 2025, with one viewer taking to Facebook to describe their request.

“Seriously Channel 7, I’ve said it before – bring back live shows… it’s so unfair to the contestants when the judges have to choose,” they wrote. “And we as viewers 9 times out of 10 don’t agree with her choices…but in saying that Leanne made the right choices tonight.

“Channel 9’s old format was that they sang live on Sunday nights so viewers could vote throughout the night, then on Monday night the show was live again with the results. I like Skye, but God, they exist and we’re much better singers. than he…please Channel 7 wake up and smell the roses and please change your format for next year and bring back live shows because the way you are doing it at the moment is so unfair to us as viewers and to the contestants, especially when it comes to voting… everyone on this platform is saying the show is rigged and, God, I’m starting to believe them.”

“Any musician, artist, singer, the judge or the public would agree that there is no possible way that Skye could be a better singer than James or Roland, this is not a personal attack on Skye, just simple facts about the vocals, the show It’s rigged and favors an unfortunate direction, if you know what I mean,” someone responded.

“I love Skye, but Roland was and is so much better that I didn’t want to believe the talk that it’s rigged, but start to believe it is so disappointing. And I agree with bringing back lives and voting,” added another.

“They were both very talented. Once again, I hope that in the future they make it to the playoffs and then let the public decide who, from whichever team, goes to the final. Many singers who were better end up going home because of these rules that say you have to be two from each team,” said another person.

“Let the public vote. Roland and Jaydin deserve to be there. James was also 200% better,” commented another viewer.

The outcry comes after fans took to social media at the start of the season to suggest the outcome of the 2024 competition had already been decided.

The controversy first arose from a battle between Team Guy competitors Eden and Skÿe, who performed a hauntingly beautiful rendition of Yesterday by the Beatles. Despite Guy Sebastian and Adam Lambert acknowledging that Skÿe’s performance was a little flawed, Guy still opted to take him to the round of 16, sparking an incendiary discourse on social media.

It also didn’t take long for some viewers to begin to suspect foul play due to the fact that Skÿe has appeared in Afterpay commercials since the start of The Voice’s 2024 season.

“They made it blatantly obvious that they didn’t want anyone to know about Eden’s feedback as it’s clear now that Guy has the proposed fraudulent winner,” suggested one viewer. “Only his feedback and Adam’s false negative review make it clear that the fix has begun.”

“I think he won because there is no one else doing adverts and he does the Afterpay advert. I’m not saying he wins, but it’s strange”, said another.
