Jason Kelce shocked by fan proposal at Eagles Tailgate

Philadelphia Eagles fans are known for being committed to their team and it appears they are equally committed to their romantic partners.

Jason Kelce got a front row seat for a devoted fan proposing to his girlfriend on Sunday, October 13th, during the tailgate before the Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns game.

A clip of the proposal was shared via X by the “New Heights” podcast, hosted by Kelce, 36, and his brother, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. “Jason wasn’t expecting this,” the caption read. “Congratulations to the happy couple!”

The video shows the fan, dressed in a green Eagles jersey, getting down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend as they prepare to take a photo with Kelce.

As the unsuspecting woman went to pose for the former Eagles center, her boyfriend got down on one knee with a small box. From the footage, it seemed like the only person more surprised by the proposal than the fan’s girlfriend was Kelce himself.

Kelce looked shocked as he walked away and the woman said yes. The crowd began to applaud and begin an Eagles chant.

Kelce is no stranger to the Eagles tailgate, having already attended several tailgates in September before the NFL team’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. Videos shared on social media at the time showed the future Hall of Famer drinking beer, eating cheesesteaks and posing for photos with fans.

Although Kelce still attends his former NFL team’s games, he also supports his brother, Travis, 35. Earlier this month, Jason and his wife, Kylie Kelceattended the Chiefs’ Oct. 7 game against the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium. The couple shared a sweet kiss on the field before the game, according to video posted via X. After the kiss, Kylie, 32, was seen wiping something off Jason’s face.

Jason recently made headlines after suggesting a management change with the New York Jets, who fired head coach Robert Saleh on Tuesday, October 8th. In an episode of “New Heights” published a day later, Jason discussed the franchise’s conundrum.

“I don’t know if anyone is going to take this job this year,” Jason said on the Wednesday, October 9, episode. “It doesn’t matter who they hire as head coach. The head coach is Aaron Rodgers. I don’t even know why they didn’t make him head coach. I just want to see a player-coach.”
