Man arrested after allegedly confessing to killing a woman at a north Houston motel, police say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A man has been charged with murder after admitting to killing the woman he was dating in a motel room Wednesday night, according to Houston police.

HPD briefly received the call of an assault at Moonlight Inn at 5212 Airline Drive around 6:15 p.m. They said when officers arrived, Myron Lynn Strambler, 36, was outside and a woman in one of the rooms needed help.

Investigators said when they entered, the motel room was in disarray and they found Alicia Michele Strambler, 34, on the bathroom floor. She was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma.

According to police, the 36-year-old suspect confessed to the murder. Records show he is currently behind bars at the Harris County Jail.

HPD said the suspect and victim were in a relationship, but it is unclear if they were married.

The suspect’s file also shows that he has an extensive criminal record, including a conviction for assaulting a family member in 2021. He also pleaded guilty to two charges of sexual assault of a child in 2009 and served more than four years in prison for that. been in prison. crime.
