The last two updates to Dead Cells have been delayed, but will be released early next year

Developer Playdigious has announced an unfortunate delay for the final two free Dead Cells updates arriving on mobile. However, they also tempered the news with the announcement that Clean Cut and The End is Near now have a solid release date and will land on February 18, 2025. What can you expect from them? Well, let’s find out.

Since the console and PC versions of Dead Cells have already received this update, it means we can easily discuss what’s to come. Clean Cut’s main features are two new weapons: the survival-oriented Sewing Scissors and the brutality-oriented Giant Comb. There is also a new NPC called the Tailor’s Daughter that allows you to freely change the appearance of your head, and much more.

Meanwhile, The End is Near’s ominous title belies the addition of a bunch of new mobs, with the Sore Loser, Curser and Doom Bringer. In addition to a host of new abilities and colorless mutations, such as Demonic Strength, which increases your damage by a whopping 30% when cursed, +1% per curse stack.

Suffice to say, Playdigious has contributed more and more free content to Dead Cells over the years. And while they got a lot of grief when they announced the end of these free updates (so the studio could focus on other projects), I think they’ve earned the right to rest on their laurels.

As above, you can expect the final two free updates for Dead Cells Mobile to release simultaneously on February 18, 2025 for Android and iOS.
