Band is caught red-handed having Lula Lula with a 4th grade girl as payment for extra classes

A manhunt is underway for a teacher at Bethel Private School, identified only as Banda, accused of repeatedly raping a 10-year-old 4th grader.

The alleged attacks, which lasted several weeks, came to light after the victim’s father, who is visually impaired, suspected his daughter’s reluctance to attend free extra classes offered by the Banda.

The case was confirmed by Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, who painted a disturbing picture of abuse and exploitation.

“Police are investigating a case of rape involving a teacher at a private school in Hopley,” Inspector Chakanza said. He detailed the events that led to the discovery of the alleged crimes.

“The defendant offered to help the complainant with free extra classes at his place of work, as an act of empathy towards the complainant’s father, who is visually impaired and lives alone with his daughter”, explained Inspector Chakanza.

This seemingly benevolent offer, however, masked a sinister motive.

The abuse began in August 2024, during school holidays.

“At some point in early August 2024, during the school holidays, the accused approached the complainant’s father requesting permission to help the complainant with free lessons during the holidays,” said Inspector Chakanza.

It was during these ostensibly educational sessions that the rapes allegedly occurred.

The victim, overwhelmed by the trauma and the attacker’s threats, initially resisted attending classes.

“The defendant raped the complainant on several occasions. The defendant warned the complainant against reporting her act to anyone or he would kill her if he found out. She did not reveal the situation to anyone,” Inspector Chakanza revealed.

This silence, born of fear, almost allowed the abuse to continue unchecked.

The victim’s father, unaware of the horrible reality, simply saw his daughter’s resistance as a challenge.

“Her father ordered the complainant to attend classes normally, but she refused without revealing the reason,” Inspector Chakanza said.

The father’s insistence, motivated by gratitude for the free tuition, inadvertently put his daughter in even more danger.

“Her father insisted on sending her to classes and she ended up giving in. Upon arrival, the accused took her back to his room and repeated the same act,” continued Inspector Chakanza.

The cycle of abuse continued even after the school holidays ended, with the Band continuing to offer free classes.

It was the father’s growing suspicion that finally brought the horrific situation to light.

“When the school holidays ended, the defendant insisted to his father that he would take free classes with the complainant. The father became suspicious and tasked one of his neighbors to follow the complainant from behind every time she left the house for the said classes to the accused’s house,” Inspector Chakanza explained.

Neighbor vigilance proved crucial.

“The teacher was caught red-handedmanaged to escape and has not yet been arrested,” said Inspector Chakanza.

The victim, understandably traumatized, received immediate medical attention.

“The complainant was escorted to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital for medical examination,” concluded Inspector Chakanza.

The incident also raises questions about the vetting processes at Bethel Private School and the need for enhanced safeguarding measures to protect students.
