The new from Konami Silent Hill 2 remake brings back one of the most iconic and funniest secrets from the original game: the UFO ending. This punchline takes a bit of work to unlock, but it’s a fun nod to fans of the franchise.

If you want to be abducted by aliens and witness Silent Hill 2the craziest conclusion, here’s how to do it. Remember that you must have finished the entire game at least once to access it.

What is the UFO ending in Silent Hill 2 Remake?

The UFO ending is one of two joke endings you can find in Silent Hill 2 remake. Just like the original game, this bizarre conclusion is unlocked through some very specific actions you take while playing New Game Plus.

The original game had James Sunderland meeting Harry Mason from the first silent Hill. In this version, James meets Space James, who uses his model from the original game.

This version of James reveals that the James you’re playing is just a clone before an alien approaches and blasts James with a ray gun before kidnapping him.

If you’re a long-time fan of the franchise, you know it’s a tradition for the silent Hill games to feature a feverish, dream-like UFO ending in each.

It’s a very funny and light-hearted moment that gives you a moment to breathe between the games’ non-stop onslaught of psychological and gruesome horror.

How to make the UFO end in Silent Hill 2 Remake

All you have to do is observe this glowing object in a few places around the city.

To unlock the UFO ending in Silent Hill 2 remakeyou will need to follow some specific steps while playing New Game Plus.

You need to finish the game at least once. The UFO ending can only be unlocked in a New Game Plus file, so make sure you’ve completed a full run before trying this Easter egg.

In the New Game Plus file, you need to locate the Blue Gem item. It’s the key to triggering the UFO ending and only appears after the first playthrough, so don’t worry about trying to find it during the first run.

Once you’re in New Game Plus, head to Neely Street in Eastern South Vale. There you will find the Jewelry Shop, located north of Big Jay’s. Break the store window to get the Blue Gem, which is on top of a jewelry box.

To trigger the UFO Ending, you will need to use the Blue Gem in four specific locations:

  • Saul Apartments Rooftop (East South Vale)
  • Rosewater Park Pier (West of South Valley)
  • Lakeview Hotel Docks
  • Room 312 at the Lakeview Hotel

After using the blue gem in the first three locations, go to room 312 in the Lakeview Hotel and inspect the gem there.

Tip

When you inspect the Blue Gem at each location, it should glow and make alien-like noises.

If you did everything correctly, the game will instantly cut to the UFO ending, skipping the final boss fight entirely.
