Bessemer man dies after shooting Thursday night

BESSEMER, Ala.(WBRC) – Bessemer Police are investigating a homicide following a shooting that left one person dead Thursday night.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Tavares Deone Moore, 44, was shot during an assault reported just before 9 p.m.

The shooting occurred in the 2900 block of 9th Avenue North in Bessemer.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, Moore suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Paramedics provided treatment at the scene before he was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
