Man charged in death of Osage Beach officer is allowed to go to work at church

The man accused in the death of an Osage Beach police officer is allowed to go to church and work.

Christopher Aaron Bishop Wehmeyer has left the Camden County Jail a $100,000 bond after he has been charged Second degree murder and aggravated flight from arrest or detention resulting in death.

On Aug. 31, officers said Wehmeyer fled when an Osage Beach officer tried to stop him speeding on highway 54.

Another Osage Beach officer, 33 years old Phylicia Carsonjoined the chase before skidding off the road and into a tree.

Her police car caught fire.

Carson, mother of six children, died of her injuries.

Wehmeyer has been out of jail since September 23.

The court imposed restrictions on Wehmeyer.

He is prohibited from driving or possessing weapons, must wear a GPS tracking monitor and is under house arrest.

During his preliminary hearing on Friday, October 25, the judge ordered that Wehmeyer be allowed to go to work and church if he complies with his curfew.

He will have to submit his schedule to the court and to his bond counselor a week in advance.

Wehmeyer will be arraigned on Wednesday, November 6.
