Lainey Wilson moved to tears as concert fan holds up ‘We Survived Helene’ sign

Fans saw Lainey Wilson get emotional about it Hurricane Helene last weekend during her concert in Alpharetta, Georgia.

The “Heart Like a Truck” singer saw a sign in the crowd that read “We Survived Helene” and was moved to tears, according to social media posts.

Wilson took a moment to take a seat at the edge of the stage, sign her name on the sign and speak heart to heart with the audience.

“We all know that North Carolina and a lot of other states have been through a lot in the last few weeks, parts of Georgia… man, it makes me emotional,” Wilson said. “But I just want to say, tonight, a lot of you are probably dealing with heartbreak for your friends and family, and my heart is with all of you, my crew’s heart is with you.”

Wilson then reached into the crowd for a pile of tissues and dabbed her face before continuing with the show.

“I want you to know tonight that I’m here for you and we’re here for you and we’re just in the moment tonight, okay?” she said.

Wilson made a surprise visit Chimney RockNorth Carolina on Oct. 21 to deliver supplies, according WBTV in Charlotte. She is one of many country singers looking for ways to support the region. Luke Combs, Eric Church, Billy Strings, James Taylor and other stars will perform during a fundraising concert for Carolina in Charlotte on October 26.
