From Flag Day to UAE National Day: Dubai announces a month of celebrations – News

Dubai has launched a new campaign to celebrate important national occasions in the UAE, the government said in an announcement on Wednesday.

The campaign, launched in partnership with 16 government, semi-government and private entities, will coincide with UAE Flag Day and the 53rd celebration of Eid Al Etihad (UAE National Day). This campaign starts on November 3 and lasts until December 3.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council (DMC), said the campaign was launched in honor of the founding fathers of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. .

Here’s what residents can expect during the period:






Fireworks

On December 2 and 3, spectacular fireworks displays will light up the sky at locations including JBR Beach, Al Seef, Hatta and Dubai Festival City Mall. Residents can also go to Hatta to enjoy fireworks, traditional folk dances and musical performances.

Residents can catch fireworks at Dubai’s Global Village every day during the campaign.

Seasonal markets

Several seasonal markets, including Beach Canteen, Ripe Market and Winter Wonderland, will also be part of the festivities, offering Emirati-themed activities, local food and shopping experiences.

A ‘Union Day Parade’ will also be held on December 2 during the City Walk, organized in collaboration with Watani Al Emarat. This colorful parade will showcase Emirati culture through traditional dances and performances, creating a carnival-like atmosphere for families and visitors.

Special events in museums

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) will host special events at key cultural destinations such as the Hatta Heritage Village, encouraging visitors to explore the region’s rich history and culture. Various activities that reflect Dubai’s cultural heritage will take place in the historic Al Fahidi district.

At Al Shindagha Museum, the UAE’s largest open-air heritage museum, visitors can enjoy a comprehensive cultural experience that connects the past with the present. The museum will breathe new life into heritage homes through theatrical and interactive performances, highlighting aspects of life in old Dubai. The celebrations include traditional and innovative events that highlight the UAE’s development journey.

The Etihad Museum, an important national monument, hosts special celebrations focusing on the history of the Union of the UAE. The museum will host cultural events, including exhibitions and interactive displays, telling the story of the UAE’s founding.

Concert at Expo City

Expo City Dubai will host a musical concert titled ‘Union Symphony’, performed by the Firdaus Orchestra, as part of the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations.

The orchestra will perform a selection of Emirati national songs in two free public performances. The iconic Al Wasl Plaza in Expo City will be decorated with UAE flags and traditional Emirati decor, and traditional Emirati performers will perform cultural shows.

Al Wasl Plaza will also host the Emirati Harvest Market, featuring locally grown agricultural and food products.

Light shows in parks

Dubai Municipality will illuminate major parks, the Dubai Frame, the Dubai Safari Park and the Clock Tower Roundabout with dazzling lights for Eid Al Etihad.

Celebrations at Dubai airports

A dedicated space will be allocated at Dubai airports for official Eid Al Etihad celebrations, with a special focus on maritime heritage as the theme for the occasion. Visitors arriving at Dubai entry points are welcomed with traditional national songs, highlighting the unique atmosphere of these celebrations.

Various Emirati cultural events and traditional performances will also be organized, showcasing authentic Emirati customs, values ​​and identity.
