Man dies in single-vehicle crash in Valley County

GREAT FALLS – A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Valley County on Thursday, October 24, 2024.

The crash happened just after 2 p.m. near the intersection of US Highway 117 and North River Road/Tiger Butte Road, several miles south of the city of Nashua.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, a 60-year-old Glasgow man was driving a Ford F-350 pickup north on North River Road while pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with hay bales.

The truck crossed the center line, hit a ditch and crashed into a barbed wire fence before coming to a stop.

The MHP says the man may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash; According to the MHP, the man was not wearing a seat belt.

The man’s name has not been released.
