Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has shared his first single after releasing his much-discussed Championship mixtape.

The single Jailer, produced by British hitmaker Jae5, has registered almost 200,000 hits on YouTube alone just 24 hours after its release.

Sarkodie’s new song features Afrobeats sensation Victony. The 23-year-old Nigerian star behind top Afrobeats hits including Soweto provided his signature vocals on Jailer.

According to Victony, he and Sarkodie worked on the song two years ago. Sarkodie is known for his carefully planned rollouts, which often require a long incubation period for his songs.
