Reward increased to ,000 for information on teen shot in apartment

GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) – Authorities have increased the reward for information leading to an arrest in a case in which an East Valley teen was shot to death as she slept in her apartment.

It’s been over two years since I turned 19 Rachel Hansen was shot and killed in her Gilbert apartment.

Now Silent Witness has increased the reward offered from $10,000 to $15,000.

Gilbert police said Hansen was sleeping in her apartment near San Tan Village Parkway and Ray Road on June 4, 2022. when she was shot around 2 a.m.

Her mother said she believes her daughter was targetedor shot by someone who used to live in the apartment.

Body camera video and a 911 transcript also revealed that Hansen called 911 and said someone had broken in and shot her moments before her death.

She was rushed to hospital where she underwent hours of surgery but later died.

The Hansen family has one GoFundMe page so they can hire a private investigator.
