Pelham, NH Police identify alleged hit-and-run driver who left woman seriously injured

PELHAM, NH – Police announced they have identified the driver involved in Tuesday morning’s collision that left a pedestrian with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

“Members of the Pelham Police Department have worked extremely hard over the past two days to follow up on every lead from the public,” police said in a statement Friday. “With the cooperation of many people, the van in question has been located and we have identified the driver.”

The victim, a 53-year-old woman from Pelham, remains hospitalized at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington.

While the driver’s identity was not revealed and no charges were announced Friday, police said the case remains “a top priority” and is being actively investigated. Police also thanked everyone who provided tips, adding that without this help “the case would not have progressed as quickly as it has.”

First responders were first called to a motor vehicle accident on Mammoth Road near George M. Muldoon Park shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, they found the victim sitting on the north shoulder of Mammoth Road with “significant injuries,” police said.

The vehicle involved had already left before emergency services arrived.

When police initially asked the public for help in locating the driver, police said they had no description of the vehicle but noted it should have damage to the front passenger side mirror or front passenger corner.

On Friday, police urged anyone with additional firsthand information about the incident to contact Cpl. James Locke at 603-635-2411 or [email protected].
