TCU football: Week 9 depth chart

TCU football: Week 9 depth chart

After TCUs upset victory against Utah Last Saturday, many Horned Frog fans were wondering where TCU fits in the Big 12 standings. TCU currently has a 2-2 conference record in a wide-open Big 12 and an overall record of 4-3. With TCU so healthy in terms of depth, the Horned Frogs are ready to compete in every game they play, including their game this Saturday against Texas technology.

While some consider Texas Tech a powerhouse in the conference, the Red Raiders have also had their struggles on defense. Texas Tech has the edge in points/game, but they have also allowed more points on defense by a decent margin. TCU has allowed 27.43 points per game, and Texas Tech has allowed 36.14 points per game. Some of the injuries the Raiders suffered earlier this season likely contributed to their struggles on the defensive side of the ball.

Cooper McDonald headlines this week’s TCU injuries. McDonald has 2.5 sacks this season and has been flexible in his role on defense. Devean deal will likely start for the Frogs next Saturday after a quality game against Utah last week. Even as Deal rotated in and out of defense he had a decent impact in blitz schemes as he had 4.5 tackles for a loss.

On the offensive side of the ball, the offense remains largely the same. But don’t be surprised if we see more of it Battle of Trent as the junior averaged 5.6 yards/carry last weekend. Head coach Sonja Dykes said Tuesday that the role Redding Williams had in the running game will not be a consistent trend in the offensive game plan.
