Free Music Friday: Blaggards

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Founded 20 years ago in Houston, Blaggard’s “Stout Irish Rock” is inspired by everything from Johnny Cash to Black Sabbath.

Singer Patrick Delvin said he was inspired by his upbringing across the pond.

“I grew up in Ireland and the music is just catchy. It’s so catchy and so lighthearted. With a wink, but it’s a crowd pleaser,’ he explained.

The group sees music as a way to distract from the chaos of everyday life.

“We do a lot of things that you wouldn’t expect. It’s not a great climate right now, so anything to cheer you up and get you moving,” Delvin said.

Blaggards play at O’Bannon’s Taphouse on Friday at 10pm with no cover.
