Olivia Rodrigo Recalls Feeling ‘Terrified’ During the First Night of Her GUTS World Tour (Exclusive)

Olivia Rodrigo‘s world tour for ENTERPRISES is the second of her career, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t “terrified” before she took the stage at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, California, in February 2024.

When PEOPLE posted “Get Him Back!” singer, 21, at Netflix’s Nya EAST red carpet premiere Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS world tour On Friday, October 25, she recalled being “terrified” and felt she should have practiced more that evening.

“I thought, ‘I should have rehearsed more… like I needed three more weeks to rehearse this thing,’” she tells PEOPLE exclusively. “But I thought, ‘Oh well, I’ll keep going.’ “

After the show, Rodrigo had “such a beautiful moment” with her parents and friends offstage.

“I remember coming off the stage and my mom, my dad and all my friends were there supporting me and just cheering,” Rodrigo says. ‘We drank champagne. And it was such a beautiful moment. I will remember it forever.”

Rodrigo adds that her hands were shaking with nerves when she played the piano during the first shows of the tour. “I was so afraid I was going to mess it up,” she tells PEOPLE. “And on the last one, I feel like I could actually sit in it and just enjoy it.”

The ENTERPRISES documentary about the world tour was directed by James Merryman and premieres on Netflix on October 29.

“I’m so excited to… ENTERPRISES World tour with my fans,” Rodrigo said in a statement when the special was announced earlier this month. “For those of you who didn’t get a chance to rock out in person, now you can have the best seats in the house! And to the fans who cheered, screamed and danced with me, I’m so happy we get to do it all again!”

The ENTERPRISES World tour started on February 23 in Palm Springs with Chappell Roan as Rodrigo’s opening act. The Breeders, Remi Wolf, PinkPantheress and Benee also performed during the tour.

Rodrigo finalized her dates for 2024 Australia this week. Her tour will resume in March with stops in Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia. On June 30 and July 1, 2025, she will perform two shows in Manchester, England, which were postponed this year due to “technical issues” at the venue.
