Man Utd Ax timeline revealed after ‘secret’ talks with multiple managers

Manchester United have held ‘secret talks’ with several managers ‘behind Erik ten Hag’s back’, with a report revealing when the ax could fall and which four managers have risen on the club’s wanted list.

Man Utd’s 1-1 draw with Fenerbahce on Thursday evening took the overall season record to four wins, five draws and three defeats in twelve matches. The Red Devils also drew against Manchester City at the Community Sheild, but were defeated on penalties.

United have yet to taste victory in the Europa League after three attempts and are the fourth lowest goalscorers in the Premier League this season. Only Crystal Palace (five), Southampton and Ipswich Town (both six) scored fewer than the seven-goal limit for Man Utd.

It is the type of start that has secured Ten Hag’s position Man Utd manager is still a hot topic and according to a new update from The Daily Mailthe Dutchman is once again clinging to power.

They claim that Man Utd have held ‘secret discussions’ with several managers in recent weeks. There have reportedly been two rounds of talks with former Barcelona boss Xavi, although he is not the only one the club’s decision-makers have spoken to.

It was not clarified exactly who else Man Utd have been in contact with, although the report did name three other managers who are ‘on the list of potential targets’. In addition to Xavi, Man Utd are also talking about Edin Terzic (unattached), Ruben Amorim (Sporting CP) and Thomas Frank (Brentford).

On the topic of when Ten Hag might get fired, The Daily Mail stated: ‘he will be vulnerable when the Premier League breaks again next month if results do not improve.’

The ‘break’ in question refers to the November international break, which starts just over two weeks later on November 11.

Man Utd will play West Ham, Leicester (EFL Cup), Chelsea, PAOK (Europa League) and Leicester between now and then.

Thomas Frank under ;serious consideration; Italian excluded

TEAMtalk learned on October 24 that Brentford boss is Frank come under ‘serious consideration’ at Old Trafford.

Furthermore, we have been told that Frank would be willing to leave Brentford for the Man Utd job if it was offered.

One manager who is NOT in line to take Ten Hag’s place – despite speculation to the contrary – is Simone Inzaghi.

Dubious reports from Italy recently claimed that Inzaghi had been given the green light to join Man Utd.

However, reporter Rudy Galetti exclusively told TEAMtalk that although Man Utd spoke to Inzaghi in September, the Italian immediately rejected their advances.

Latest Man Utd News – Alphonso Davies / Joshua Zirkzee / Christian Eriksen

In other news, Man Utd have done just that reinforced their interest in Bayern Munich left back Alphonso Davies.

The Canadian – also a target for Real Madrid – expires in 2025 and is not expected to sign an extension with Bayern.

Elsewhere, suggestions that Joshua Zirkzee could be loaned out to a Serie A side in January have been dismissed by Fabrizio Romano.

According to the trusted reporter, Neither Man Utd nor Zirkzee want to part ways so soon after the striker’s arrival.

Finally, Christian Eriksen has done that strongly hinted he would sign a new contract with Man Utd if one is offered.

Unfortunately for the Dane, TEAMtalk understands that United have no plans to extend the 32-year-old’s stay. Eriksen is in the final year of his contract.
