Kegworth Co-op theft getaway car injures a member of the public

A resident was injured after being dragged by a car speeding away from the scene of a shoplifting incident, police said.

Two people targeted Co-op on Kegworth’s Market Place on Wednesday to steal items, Leicestershire Police said, before being challenged by bystanders.

As the pair left the scene in an uninsured car without a valid MOT certificate, one person was “dragged away” before falling to the ground, causing injuries.

The force’s Valley Beat team said two people were arrested and charged a short time later.
