The incident happened on Sunday even after he scored the match winner against Eintracht Frankfurt, his first match back after the Super Eagles airport hostage crisis in Libya.

The Nigerian attacker was not included in the traveling team this midweek UEFA Champions League matchday three away match at French Ligue 1 club Brest.

Leverkusen confirmed he has returned to training via a post on social media ahead of the away trip to Weserstadion to play Werder Bremen this Saturday at 5:30 PM.

Alonso talks about Boniface’s return

Alonso was asked this week about the Nigerian’s return after his accident last week. He did not set a timetable for return, but only set conditions.

“When he feels good,” he said, as quoted by League Insider. “Today is the last test in the (final) training. If he feels good both physically and mentally, he travels to Bremen.”

The former Royal Union Saint-Gilloise striker was a crucial member of the side that won Germany’s first-ever Bundesliga title unbeaten last season.

He has started this season in the spotlight, scoring seven goals and providing one assist in ten gamesincluding his first goal in the Champions League.

Boniface responds to the criticism of the nomination

Legit.ng reported that Victor Boniface responded to his nomination after the men’s category for the 2024 CAF Awards was announced last night.
