Grandparents talk about grief after Cimarron Thomas commits suicide

Cimarron’s grandparents, Peggy and Dale Thomas, spoke of their heartbreak in a victim impact statement read out in court.

“Our lives will never be the same,” they said.

“We didn’t see her graduate, walk down the aisle or have children.

“We have been robbed and our lives have been changed forever.”

Peggy and Dale take part in an upcoming BBC documentary about McCartney, in which they remember their granddaughter but speak about their suffering.

The three-part series Teen Predator/Online Killer, which looks at this case in more detail, will be available on BBC iPlayer, BBC One NI and BBC Three in the coming weeks.

DoubleBand Films’ series is told from multiple perspectives and includes access to the international investigative teams, led by the Police Service of Northern Ireland, and interviews with Cimarron’s family and some of those exploited and abused by McCartney.
