The third poll shows that Trump has overtaken Harris, at a shared 49%

With little time left, former president Donald Trump has now overtaken the vice president Kamala Harris in a third national poll and is on track to pass her by Election Day.

The Emerson College Poll, Released on Saturday morning, both were found to be equal at 49%. It’s the first time Trump has restricted Harris since President Joe Biden was pushed out of his reelection race and endorsed his vice president.

It’s the third national poll this week to show that Trump has put the race in a dead heat with ten days to go before Election Day.

On Friday, CNN’s poll showed the race tied at 47%, and the New York Times/Siena poll came in at 48%.

Emerson said independents are running for Trump in greater numbers than in the 2020 election, which Trump lost to Biden. “In this poll, independents report voting for Trump 49% to 46% — a reversal from 2020, when they reported voting for Biden by about 10 points,” said Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling .

And Trump wins Gentlemen in enormous numbers. “Men favor Trump by 13 points, 55% to 42%, a larger margin than in 2020, while women have a 10-point lead for Harris, 54% to 44%, underperforming against support from Biden in 2020,” Kimball added.

Trump spent three hours yesterday recording a podcast hosted by Joe Roganwhich political analysts said was a move to maintain Republicans’ “bro vote.”

Trump and his team have exuded confidence over the past two weeks, as evidenced by polls that put him in the driver’s seat. There have been reports from the Harris campaign of infighting and panic over squandering its momentum.

Emerson said that when asked who voters likely think will win, they picked Trump by a hair. “Regardless of who they will vote for, 50% think Trump will win the election and 49% think Harris will win the election.”
