Sean “Diddy” Combs has a long history in the hip-hop industry, and those who were once close to him have revealed some information about what things really looked like behind the scenes.

Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in September 2024 on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. The “Coming Home” singer was previously sued by him ex-girlfriend, Cassie Venturain 2023, which seemed to be the impetus for so much more information about Diddy.

It turns out that Diddy had some jealousy issues when his record label was still nascent, and a former friend of his said that Diddy didn’t like the friendship Biggie and Tupac Shakur had shortly before their deaths.

It’s not easy to make it in the rap and hip-hop world, and Diddy knew that. But when he founded Bad Boy Records in 1993, he did everything he could to achieve success. Today, Combs is in prison just like him is awaiting trial on multiple chargesand those who were once close to him have spoken out about what might have led him to this fate.

“There was someone on the sidelines, jealous,” said Kirk Burrowes, Diddy’s former partner at Bad Boy Records and the label’s former president. Rolling stone. At the time, Biggie had signed with Bad Boy Records and Diddy had tried to befriend Tupac, but Tupac didn’t match up well with him. This meant that Biggie’s budding friendship with Tupac hindered Diddy.

But that friendship quickly turned into rivalry; in 1994, Shakur was shot but survived, blaming Diddy and Bad Boy Records; it meant that he and Piggy were no longer friends. Still, Biggie tried to leave Bad Boy Records shortly before his death.

“I know for sure (because) he told me,” Monique Bunn, a hip-hop photographer, told Rolling Stone.

There are plenty of people who don’t want to talk about Diddy’s allegations, but both Suge Knight and 50 Cent, neither of whom got along well with Diddy, have had good words to say about the mogul. Knight suggested that abuse in the hip-hop industry is an ongoing cycle, and that Diddy was abused during his early rising years. Knight also said he believes Diddy’s “life is in danger” because of the mogul’s knowledge of so many celebrity secrets.

50 Cent also recently spoke out about Diddy, saying the two never got along very well. 50 also said that Diddy had a “weird energy” about him over the years and that Diddy made him “uncomfortable.”

Diddy’s trial will begin in May 2025. He has not yet been released from prison.
