Freddie Freeman Walk-Off HR Wide-Eyed By Goldin Auctions After Dodgers Win WS Game 1 | News, scores, highlights, stats and rumors

LOS ANGELES, CA - OCTOBER 25: Freddie Freeman #5 of the Los Angeles Dodgers celebrates after hitting a walk-off grand slam in the tenth inning during Game 1 of the 2024 World Series presented by Capital One between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium on Friday, October 25, 2024 in Los Angeles, California. The ball from Freddie Freeman’s historic walk-off grand slam in Game 1 of the 2024 World Series, which gave the Los Angeles Dodgers a 6-3 victory over the New York Yankees, is being sought by one of the leading auction markets.

Ken Goldin of Goldin Auctions asked the fan who caught the ball to contact him as soon as possible.

It was a good week for Goldin Auctions, which sold Shohei Ohtani’s 50th home run ball of the season for $4.4 million on Wednesday. It is the highest retail price ever for a ball in any sport.

The Ohtani ball was the one that made him the first player in MLB history to have 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in the same season.

Freeman became only the second player in MLB history to hit a walk-off grand slam in the playoffs and the first to do so on Friday night in a World Series game. He laid down the first pitch he saw from Yankees reliever Nestor Cortes Jr. in the seats above the right field fence.

The only walk-off grand slam in postseason history prior to Friday night was by Nelson Cruz for the Texas Rangers in a 7-3 win over the Detroit Tigers in Game 2 of the 2011 ALCS.

While the ball from Freeman’s big moment probably wouldn’t generate as much interest among memorabilia collectors as Ohtani’s, the historic nature of the home run could fetch a pretty penny if the person who caught it decides to sell it.
