KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 32-year-old worker has been charged with assault after allegedly hitting a woman with a glass bottle during a dispute on Thursday, September 19.

According to police reports, Dwight Williams, aka ‘Zappa’, of 12 Rodney Street, Kingston, was arguing with a woman when a family member intervened.

Williams reportedly left the scene but later returned with a glass bottle, which he allegedly threw at the woman. The bottle is said to have shattered upon impact, causing injuries.

Williams then allegedly pulled a firearm from his waistband and threatened to kill her. The woman’s mobile phone was also allegedly destroyed during the argument.

A report was made and Williams was later arrested. He was arraigned on Thursday, October 24, following a question and answer session. In addition to assault, he is also charged with unlawful wounding and malicious destruction of property.

A trial for him is currently being finalized.
