Madalyn Powell killed in wreck in Fayette County

FAYETTE CO., Ala. (WAF) – A Florence woman died Friday morning after a wreck in Fayette County, officials said.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), a single-vehicle crash occurred around 5:45 a.m. on Alabama 13 after a woman driving a 2009 Kia Rio left the roadway and entered a ditch.

Officials have identified the driver of the Kia as 28-year-old Madalyn G. Powell.

Powell was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The incident remains under investigation by ALEA.
