Adorable, cuddly companions ready to join your family!

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Dozens of dogs are ready to be adopted as renovations will soon take place at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center.

These renovations include a new dog adoption wing, but space will be at a premium until they are completed in 2025. So now is a great time to tour the kennels and consider adopting a shelter pet!

Furry Friday is a collaboration between WCTV and the Tallahassee Animal Service Center, designed to bring dogs out of their kennels and into the spotlight, in hopes of helping them find their new fur families.

These are the four fantastic dogs we are featuring this week:

MEET REX

Meet Rex.

This 6-month-old puppy is at full speed and his motto could be: “walk more, talk less!”

Rex has a lot of puppy energy.

The Catahoula mix is ​​crazy, smart and sociable.

He enjoys a brisk walk and exploring nature.

Rex learns to sit for treats and works on his big boy manners.

If Rex seems like the perfect addition to your active, affectionate, adventurous family, visit him at the shelter this weekend.

MEET IAN

Ian is looking for a family with an endless supply of love and tennis balls.

Meet Ian.

This four-month-old puppy loves playing ball, chasing tennis balls and jumping on them.

He would like to find a family that will teach him how to retrieve.

Ian loves to lie on his stomach for a good belly massage in the cool green grass.

This lab/hound mix excels at staring into your eyes and being cute.

If Ian melts your heart now, visit him at the shelter this weekend!

Meet Gabby.

Go ahead and take a deep breath and exhale, because this girl is zen.

Gabby likes to stay calm. She’s the sweet, quiet type.

Gabby gets along great with other chill dogs, but loudly barking dogs make her nervous and she would love to be your one and only.

Gabby is affectionate with people and gentle with children.

She can’t wait to take a long, relaxing walk with you.

Meet Pinda.

This 10-month-old puppy is looking for a better life, one that comes with lots of treats and loving attention.

He may be shy and nervous at first, but he quickly warms up and absorbs affection.

Peanut loves swimming in kiddie pools and dreams of a backyard with one of his own.

He enjoys playing with his dog friends and has even lived next to cats.

Peanut is looking for a loving family who will help him grow into a confident, carefree companion.

If you have room in your heart and home for Peanut, visit him at the shelter this weekend!

MEET AND GREET

You can meet these dogs and dozens more waiting for adoption this weekend at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center.

People can walk through the kennels Wednesday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The rest of the week people can also visit by appointment from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m

Look at the dogs and cats available for adoption on the shelter’s website.

The adoption fee is $20 for cats and $30 for dogs. This fee includes sterilization/neuter, vaccines, microchip, Martingale collar and leash, and a bag of food.
