Premier League LIVE: Leicester City vs Nottingham Forest – live text commentary and score updates

Chris Wood’s derby double sent Nottingham Forest to fifth place in the Premier League after a dominant win over Leicester.

The striker took advantage of two second-half mistakes to punish his former club and took his league goal tally to seven this season.

Ryan Yates had given Forest a 16th minute lead, but Jamie Vardy leveled shortly afterwards.

But the visitors recovered and Wood’s clinical finishing ensured they have now lost just one of their opening nine games.

Foxes boss Steve Cooper suffered defeat to his old club – the first time he has faced them since his sacking last December – and watched in frustration as Leicester were the architects of their own downfall, punished for every mistake they made.

First, Facundo Buonanotte opted to run out of defense with the ball rather than clearing the field and was robbed on the edge of the area by Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Elliot Anderson drove into the penalty area and James Justin could only half clear his cross, which fell for Yates to find the bottom corner from 20 yards.

However, the lead lasted just seven minutes as Harry Winks was slotted in on the left and Vardy darted between Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic to poke home the midfielder’s cross from six yards.

Instead of calming Leicester down, the leveler brilliantly denied Forest and Mads Hermansen Nicolas Dominguez from close range. The Danish goalkeeper also turned away Hudson-Odoi’s goal before half-time.

Forest then took full control as they capitalized on more errors from the hosts. Wood made it 2-1 just two minutes into the second half as Leicester lost possession and he rolled Caleb Okoli to expertly find the corner with a low drive.

Hudson-Odoi then hit the post but things got worse for the Foxes on the hour mark when Wout Faes made a mess of things with visiting keeper Matz Sels’ long ball and Wood nodded over Hermansen.

Only a sad miss from Yates denied Forest a late fourth place.
