Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will be cleared to play again on Sunday

The Miami Dolphins have cleared all the procedural hurdles Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback for the first time in six weeks on Sunday.

Saturday is the NFL team announced Tagovailoa was reinstated to the Dolphins’ active 53-man roster from injured reserve, making him eligible to play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Miami placed Tagovailoa on injured reserve on September 17, five days after he left the Dolphins’ 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills due to a concussion.

On Friday, Miami coach Mike McDaniel made this known Tagovailoa was cleared from the NFL’s concussion protocol by the team physician and an independent neurologist after practicing with his teammates this week. That left Tagovailoa’s appointment as injured reserve as the only obstacle to his return.

To create a roster spot for Tagovailoa, the Dolphins released quarterback Tim Boyle.

Without Tagovailoa, Miami used three quarterbacks and scored three touchdowns in winning one of the four games the former won. Alabama All-American had to sit out.

The Dolphins and Cardinals meet Sunday at Noon CDT at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Arizona has a 3-4 record. Miami is 2-4.
