A hotel guest recalls what he saw on the night of Liam Payne's death: 'He was escorted back to his room again and again'

It’s been a tragic few weeks for One Direction fans and everyone who loved Liam Payne following his death at the age of 31. After the singer sadly died after falling over 40 feet from the balcony of a hotel room he was staying in in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 16, more details about the final days of his life are emerging. A recently released documentary appears to contain such information. This includes an account from a hotel guest about Payne’s alleged behavior on the night of his death.

In the nearly two weeks since Liam Payne’s death, it has been revealed that the One Direction member had multiple drugs in his system, including a particularly dangerous one party drug called ‘pink cocaine’. In the ABC News documentary IMPACT x Nightline: One Direction: The Last Days of Liam Paynewhich is available to view with a Hulu subscriptionan American tourist who stayed at CasaSur Palermo at the same time as Liam Payne shared the following:

We had several meetings with Liam. (There were) several times where he had come to the lobby and caused a disturbance. (He) was escorted to his room again and again.

Other guests reported “erratic behavior,” with another customer at the Buenos Aires hotel recalling “a lot of noise” coming from his room, including “a very loud, violent scream” last week, per People. The hotel visitor in the documentary also said this to ABC, regarding the musician’s alleged actions:

(He) smashed his laptop in the lobby. And the last time he came back down, he passed out in the hotel lobby.

ABC reports that after Liam Payne returned to his room, the hotel manager called 911 to report that they had a guest who was apparently drunk. The manager recalled that when Payne was conscious, he broke everything in the room, and expressed concern that his life was in danger because his room had a balcony. Ultimately, no help arrived before Payne fell three stories from his room and died on the spot. After the singer’s death, his room was found destroyed, with a broken TV.

Since the death of the “First Time” artist, the remaining Members of One Direction have released a joint statement sharing their devastation at the death, as each remembers their bandmate on their personal social media.
